Hello, girls.

When Mr,Wonka turned round and saw what Augustus Gloop was doing, he cried out, “Oh, no! Please, Augustus, please! I beg of you not to do that. My chocolate must be untouched by human hands!”

For suddenly there was a shriek, and then a splash, and into the river went Augustus Gloop, and in one second he had disappeared under the brown surface.

Then Oompa-Loompas started to sing a song of Augustus Gloop.

Next, they down the chocolate river and they went to the inventing room which everlasting gobstoppers and hair toffee.

Chapter 13~15

Hi, everyone!
Today, I would like to write about chapter 13, 14, and 15.

The BIG day arrived.
Outside the gates of Wonka’s Factory, enormous crowds of people had gathered to watch the five lucky ticket holders going in.
Mr.Wonka was standing all alone just inside the open gates of the factory.
Then Mr.Wonka opened the gate and invited five children inside of the Factory.

Next, “An important room, this!” cried Mr.Wonka.
It was the chocolate room.
There were the tiny men who were no larger than medium-sized dolls.
“but they can’t be real people,” Charlie said.
“of course they’re real people,” Mr.Wonka answered.

“They’re Oompa-Loompas.”

Chapter 12

Hello, girls!
Today, I would like to write about chapter 12.

Charlie burst through the front door, shouting, “Mother! Mother! Mother! ”
Rushing in on them like a hurricane.

“Look! I’ve got it! Look, Mother, look! The last Golden Ticket! It’s mine! I found some money in the street and I bought two candy bars and the second one had the Golden Ticket and there were crowds of people all around me waiting to see it and the shopkeeper rescued me and I ran all the way home and here I am! It’s the fifth Golden Ticket, mother, and I’ve found it!”

As you can see that Charlie’s excited behavior, I felt like Charlie is the happiest boy in the world :)

Chapter 9~11

Hello, girls.
Today I will write about chapter 9, 10, and 11.

One afternoon, walking back home with the icy wind in his face, his eye was caught suddenly by a piece of paper that was lying in the gutter, in the snow.

It was a dollar bill!

Carefully, Charlie pulled it out from under the snow. It was damp and dirty, but otherwise perfect. Automatically, he turned and began moving toward the nearest shop.

Charlie entered the store and laid the damp dollar bill on the counter.
“one Wonka’ Whipple-Scrumptious Fudge mallow Delight,” he said.
Charlie picked it up and tore off the wrapper…and suddenly…from underneath the wrapper… there came a brilliant flash of gold.

“It’s a Golden Ticket!”

Chapter 8

Hi, ladies!
Today, I will write about Chapter 8.

That evening, Mr.Bucket’s newspaper announced the finding of not only the third Golden Ticket, but also the fourth as well.
The third ticket was found by a Miss Violet Beauregarde. She is a gumchewer. The fourth Golden Ticket was found by a boy called Mike Teavee. The nine-year-old boy was seated before an enormous television set, with his eyes glued to the screen, and he was watching film in which one brunch of gangsters with machine gunes.

And you know that there is only one more left.

Can you imagine what kind of child will be the lucky boy or girl?

Chapter 7

Hello, everyone.
Today, I will write about Chapter 7.

On the day of Charlie’s birth day, he got a Wonka’s chocolate bar.
They all knew it was ridiculous to expect this one poor little candy bar to have a magic ticket inside it, and they were trying as gently and as kindly as they could to prepare Charlie for the disappointment. But there was one other thing that the grownups also knew, and it was this: that however small the chance might be of striking lucky, the chance was there.

The chance had to be there. This particular candy bar had as much chance as any other of having a Golden Ticket.

I like this word :)

But… there was no ticket inside of Charlie’s candy bar ;(

Chapter 6

Hi! How’s going?
Today I will write about Chapter 6.

The very next day of Wonka’s article, the first Golden Ticket was found. The finder was a boy called Augustus Gloop, and Mr.Bucket’s evening newspaper carried a large picture of him on the front page. The picture showed a nine-year-old boy who was so enormously fat he looked as though he had been blown up with a powerful pump. Great flabby folds of fat bulged out from every part of his body, and his face was like a monstrous ball of dough with two small greedy currant eyes peering out upon the world.

Suddenly, on the day before Charlie Bucket’s birthday, the newspapers announced that the second Golden Ticket had been found. The lucky person was a small girl called Veruca Salt who lived with her rich parents in a great city far away. Once again, Mr.Bucket’s evening newspaper carried a big picture of the finder. She was sitting between her beaming father and mother in the living room of their house, waving the Golden Ticket above her head, and grinning from ear to ear.

Chapter 5

Good morning!
Today, I want to show you the newspaper article of Wonka.

Mr.Willy Wonka, the candy-making genius whom nobody has seen for the last ten years, sent out the following notice today:

I, Willy Wonka, have decided to allow five children just five, mind you, and no moreto visit my factory this year. These lucky five will be shown around personally by me, and they will be allowed to see all the secrets and the magic of my factory. Then, at the end of the tour, as a special present, all of them will be given enough chocolates and candies to last them for the rest of their lives! So watch out for the Golden Tickets! Five Golden Tickets have been hidden underneath the ordinary wrapping paper of five ordinary candy bars. These five candy bars may be anywherein any shop in any street in any town in any country in the worldupon any counter finders of these five Golden Tickets are the only ones who will be allowed to visit my factory and see what it’s like now inside! Good luck you all, and happy hunting!

chapter 3~4

Hello, ladies!

This week I will write about Chapter 3~4.

In this chapter, Grandpa Joe told Little Charlie something else that true. He learned closer to Charlie and lowered his voice to a soft, secret whisper.

“Nobody… ever… comes… out!

And… nobody… ever… goes… in!”

All factories have workers streaming in and out of the gates in the mornings and evenings except Wonka’s!

This is fantastic point of Wonka’s factory, isn’t it?

And, Grandpa Joe cried, “Have you heard the news?”

He held up the paper so that they could see the headline. The headline said:

WONKA FACTORY TO BE OPENED AT LAST TO LUCKY FEW

Chapter 1~2

Hi girls!

I’m sorry, I forgot to write about the author of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” in last blog. The author is Roald Dahl. He first wrote this story in 1964. I was surprised about this because I watched a movie of this story in 2005. Can you believe there is a blank of 40 years! Actually, the first movie was made in 1971 and remade it in 2005.

This week I would like to write about chapter1~2, “Here Comes Charlie” and “Mr. Willy Wonka’s Factory”. At this chapter, the book tells you about Charlie and Charlie’s family with cute drawings. Also Grandpa Joe told Charlie about Mr. Willy Wonka very proudly. I like Grandpa Joe’s character with humor.

"Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"

Hello everyone. Long time no see!

How was your summer vacation?

Today, I will write about my summer vacation a little.

This summer, I visited to Houston, Texas for about 2 weeks. I went to see my brother’s family. However this was the first time for me to trip abroad by myself, so I was a little upset. On the other hand, I was really excited to meet my brother and nephew. And expectedly, I spend fantastic time in Houston. I went to NASA space center, Houston Zoo, Houston aquarium, city mall, and so on. I took many many pictures. To tell the truth, I got 2kg in 2weeks… I have to lose weight!

Anyway, I decided a book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” for this semester’s blogging activity. I will start to write about it in next blog!

See you soon:)

Book report 15

Hello, everyone :)
Now, I am going to write Charlie’s last progress report which he wrote at November 21. It is only 5 pages but there has the truth that he feels inside.

I would like to write the last part of his last progress report.

“I dont no why Im dumb agen or what I did rong. Maybe its because I dint try hard enuf or just some body put the evel eye on me. Anyway I bet Im the frist dumb persen in the world who found out some thing inportent for sience. I did somthing but I dont remember what. So I gess its like I did it for all the dumb pepul like me in all over the world.

Goodby Miss Kinnian and dr Strauss and everybody…

P.S. please tel prof Nemur not to be such a grouch when pepul laff at him and he woud have more frends. Its easy to have frends if you let pepul laff at you. Im going to have lots of frends where I go.

P.S. please if you get a chanse put some flowrs on Algernons grave in the bak yard.”

He had many misspelling like the beginning of this book. That means his IQ back to the beginning. However his IQ got low, he worried about Algernon. I think that shows Charlie is gentle person for real. I was really moved because however Charlie is a subject for experiment, he loved his life, everyone around him, and Algernon. He is considerate of people around him. I want to be a person like him.

If you have a chance to read this book, please tell me how you feel about Charlie :)

Book report 14

Hi, everyone!
I would like to tell you about Charlie’s progress report of October 11 to November 20.

He wake up in the morning and don’t know where he is or what he is doing here. He lies in bed for days and don’t seems to know who or where he is. Fugues of amnesia. All so cruelly logical, the result of speeding up all the processes of the mind. He learned so much so fast, and now his mind is deteriorating rapidly. What if he won’t let it happen? What if he fights it?

He is forgetting things he learned. Motor activity impaired. He keeps tripping and dropping things. Now he realized his coordination is bad. He have to move slowly to get things right.

Charlie said,

“I don’t regret the experiment. I had an empty, stupid smile.
And everyone played tricks on me, and laughed at me.
Even though I didn’t understand why they were laughing, I sensed that if they could laugh at me they would like me. And I wanted them to like me. I acted like a child and I even laugh at myself along with them.
But I don’t feel like laugh at myself right now.
Maybe that’s why it was so important for me to learn. I thought it would make people like me. I thought I would have friends. That’s something to laugh at, isn’t it?”

I felt something deep feeling with his words.

Book report 13

Hello, ladies :)

I’m going to write about Charlie’s progress report of October 3 to October 10.

He thought of suicide to stop it all now while he is still in control and aware of the world around him. But he knows that he must remember he is the only person who became a genius and this ever happened to. These progress reports are Charlie Gordon’s contribution to mankind.

He is afraid. Not of life, or death, or nothingness, but of wasting it as if he had never been. More than he can bear. Pain as he have never known, and coldness, and nausea, and the great buzzing over his head flapping like a thousand wings, he open his eyes, blinded by the intense light. And flail the air and tremble and scream.

I’m afraid of death, too. No one could tell what happened to our mind after we died. That’s interesting but very scary thing.

Book report 12

Hello everyone!

I would like to tell you about Charlie’s progress report of September 27 to October 2.

Charlie went to see Rose who is his mother. But she was denying to him. Because of old age, she doesn’t remember much. After a while, Norma who is his sister came home. Charlie was surprised because Norma said she is glad to see him. It surprised me, too. He was confused. He had not expected a greeting like this from Norma. He had never occurred to him that all these years alone with his mother might change her. And yet it was inevitable. She was no longer the spoiled brat of his memories. She had grown up, had become warm and sympathetic and affectionate.

I feel like a little happy because Charlie and Norma don’t hate each other :)

Book report 11

Good afternoon everyone.

Now, I would like to tell you Charlie's progress report of August 26 to September.

Charlie wrote a letter to professor Nemor. He completed his experiments and wrote a report entitled: “The Algernon-Gordon Effect: A Study of structure and Function of Increased Intelligence”. Finally, he reached a conclusion that proved may be described most simply in the following terms:

"Artifically-Induced Intelligence deteruirates at a rate of time directly proportional to the quantity of the increase."

In Japanese: 人為的に誘発された知能は、その増大量に比例する速度で低下する。

He have checked and rechecked his date a dozen times in hope of finding an error, but he is sorry to say the results must stand.

September 15, Algernon died. He was on his side, stretched out in the corner of his cage. As is he were running in his sleep.

From Charlie’s progress report,

“It’s frightening to think that the same thing might be happening to me right now. Seeing it happen to Algernon makes it real. For the first time, I’m afraid of the future.

I put Algernon’s body into a small metal container and took him home with me. I wasn’t going to let them dump him into the incinerator. It’s foolish and sentimental, but late last night I buried him in the back yard. I wept as I put a bunch of wild flowers on the grave.”

Book report 10

Good afternoon everyone.

Now, I would like to tell you Charlie's progress report of July 31 to August 25.

At August 11, Charlie went to Mrs.Nemur’s cocktail party. It was in honor of the two men on the board of the Welberg Foundation who had been instrumental in getting her husband the grant. However at the party Charlie and Nemur got fight because Charlie got drunk again.

After he got calm down, he noticed and said,

“I was seeing myself as I really had become: Nemur had said it. I was an arrogant, self-centered bastard. Unlike Charlie, I was incapable of making friends or thinking about other people and their problems. I was interested in myself, and myself only. For one long moment in that mirror I had seen myself through Charlie’s eyeslooked down at myself and saw what I had really become. And I was ashamed.”

I think this is Charlie’s big advance of his mental.

Book report 9

Hi, everyone :)
I'll tell you about a progress report of Charlie that is July 14 to July 30 which is 20 pages. In these pages, Charlie found a change of Algernon for the worse. However Charlie took things coolly.

He said,

"What eludes me is the reason for his regressionーis it a special case? An isolated reaction? Or is these some general principle of failure basic to the whole procedure? I've got to work out the rule.

If I can find that out, and if it adds even one jot of information to whatever else has been discovered about mental retardation and the possibility of helping others like myself, I will be satisfied. Whatever happens to me, I will have lived a thousand normal lives by what I might add to others not yet born.

That's enough."

I really impressed in his words.

Book report 8

Hello, everyone :)
I'll write about Charlie's progress report of June24 to July 13 which is 25 pages.

He decided an apartment which he could live with Algernon. Next to their room, there is a woman named Fay. Charlie and Fay became very closed friend. One day, they drunk alcohol like water. Then Charlie get drunk. The next day, Charlie didn't remember anything, so he asked Fay what did he do yesterday.

Fay answered,
"I've seen guys get happy, or sad, or sleepy, or sexy, but I never saw anyone act the way you did. It's a good thing you don't drink often."
"Not what I expected. No sex, or anything lie that. But you were phenomenal. What an act! The weirdest. You'd be great on stage. You'd wow them at the place. You went all confused and silly. You know, as if a grown man starts acting like a kid. Talking about how you wanted to go to school and learn to read and write so you could be smart like everyone else. Crazy stuff like that. You were a different personーlike they do with method-actingーand you kept saying you couldn't play with me because your mother would take away your peanuts and put you in a cage."

Book report 7

Hello everyone:)

I read Charlie's progress report of June 15 to June 23 which is 32 pages. Between these days, Charlie found his father Matt. Matt had opened a barbershop somewhere in the Bronx. But Charlie was confused to tell him about hisself. I will write some Charlie's word from his progress report.

How could I tell him? What was I supposed to say? Here, look at me, I'm Charlie, the son you wrote off the books? Not that I blame you for it, but here I am, all fixed up better than ever. Test me. Ask me questions. I speak twenty languages, living and dead; I'm a mathematical whiz, and I'm writing a piano concerto that will make them remember me long after I'm gone.

Book report 6

Hi, everyone! How is your weekend?
This week I read 32 pages which mean June 10 to June 14 in Charlie’s progress report.

Charlie and Algernon are on a Strato-jet take off to Chicago. They have to attend a conference of international psychology. At first, Charlie was in awe at the picture of an international convention of scientists and scholars, gathered for an exchange of ideas. He thought here was where it all really happened. Here it would be different from the sterile college discussions, because there were the men on the highest levels of psychological research and education, the scientists who wrote the books and delivered the lectures the authorities people quoted.

At the presentation, Professor Nemer said, “We who have worked on this project at Beekman University have the satisfaction of knowing we have taken of nature’s mistakes and by our new techniques created a superior human being. When Charlie came to us he was outside of society, alone in a great city without the mental equipment to live a normal life. No past, no contact with the present, no hope for the future. It might be said that Charlie Gordon did not really exist before this experiment….”

That made Charlie gets shock and angry. He wants to shout at him that “I’m a human being, a person―ith parents and memories and a history―and I was before you ever wheeled me into that operating room!”

Then he decided to get out of there with Algernon.

Book report 5

Hello, everyone. How's going?
This week I read 38 pages which is May 11 to June 9 in Charlie's progress report.

I'm looking forward to read how the Charlie’s love going. They went to a concert of orchestra. His love seems to going better. But Miss Kinnian felt not good about spend time with Charlie. Before he got surgery, he was very pure and innocent man. That made her to feel like want to help him more. Now, Charlie is a man with very high intelligence. That makes her a sense of inferiority. She tried to think that it is not because of her intelligence was losing, it is just Charlie’s intelligence is getting higher. However she loses her confidence in herself. So she doesn’t want to be with him more than necessary.

In addition, he was fired from his job at the bakery. Charlie persuaded his owner, but he decoded to fire him. The owner said, “You’re not the Charlie who came in here seventeen years agonot even the same Charlie of four months ago. You haven’t talked about it. It’s your own affair. Maybe a miracle of some kindwho knows? But you’ve changed into a very smart young man. And operating the dough mixer and delivering packages is no work for a smart young man.”

Thank you :)

Book report 4

Hi, everyone!
I’m going to write week5’s book report.

This week, I read 38 pages correspond with April 18 to May 10 in Charlies progress report. His intelligence made steady progress. I could feel that from his words. He doesn’t write miss spelled words anymore and he uses difficult words.

This part, Charlie notices that he is in love with Miss Kinnian who is a teacher of his school. The school is for adults with low IQ. This is his first experience of fell in love with someone, so he was very confused about the feelings about her. I like the words that Charlie said, “ There is no question about it now. I’m in love.”

Thank you for reading my blog :)

Book report 3

Good evening everyone :)
Now, I'm going to write week4’s book report.

This week, I read 21 pages correspond with March 30 to April 17 in Charlie’s progress report. He wrote several memories of his childhood. Oh, I think I forgot to tell you that Charlie is 32 years old. However he has the intelligence of a little child. Therefore, he couldn’t understand if people said many evil things about him. Charlie works at Donner Bakery for 17 years. Mr. Donner is his Uncle Herman’s best friend, so Mr. Donner assumed to take care of Charlie after Uncle Herman got rest. Even though he is 32 years old and he has worked for 17 years, people at the Donner Bakery laugh at Charlie and treat roughly. But, Charlie doesn’t think so. On the contrary, he thinks that everyone loves me. Poor Charlie :( I feel so sad. I’m worry about Charlie when he gets high IQ and understand everything what people said about Charlie.

Thanks for your reading.

Book report 2

Hello everyone!

I'm sorry I forgot to write the article of I read in GW.
So I'm going to write the week 3's report.

At that week, I read 16 pages which means March 12 to March 29 in Charlie's progress report. He finished the operation of his brain in order to get him smart. I thought that he would be the man with high IQ after the operation immediately, however he still has many wrong spelled words. I was a little depressed about that. I still have hard time with reading his progress report. He did many races with Algernon, which is a lab mouse. Algernon took same operation as Charlie. Although Algernon is a mouse, he always beats Charlie at races. However, in March 29, Charlie beats Algernon for the first time! It takes 17 days since he took the operation. I'm looking forward to his changes more.

Thank you.

Book report 1

Hello:)

This semester, I am going to read a book, "Flowers for Algernon" written by Daniel Keyes. I chosen this book because my brother recommended me to read. This book is a story of a man named Charlie Gordon. He is about to embark upon an unprecedented journey. Charlie was born with an usually low IQ. At the first of this book, there were a lot of misspelled letters because of his low IQ. That made me a little confused. Then he has been chosen as the perfect subject for an experimental surgery that researchers hope will increase his intelligence. A procedure that has already been highly successful when tasted on a lab mouse named Algernon.

This week, I read 15 pages, that means March 3 to March 11 in Charlie's progress report. But I feel like tired to understand. Because of their many mistakes. But I'm looking forward to see the expands of Charlie's intelligence.

Thank you.
